My Swos Story

The first time a heard about "Sensible Soccer" was in a swedish computer-
magazine, called "Datormagazin" (this was the leading magazin for Amiga-
owners back in the 90's).
Anyway this magazine (Datormagazin 13/92) tested three football-games
for the Euro 92 (that was about to take place in Sweden).
The games they tested where; European Football Champ (by Domark),
European Championship 1992 (by Elite) and Sensible Soccer.
Sensible Soccer got 92 % out of 100 !. The other games got 55 % and 35 % !
Then you think I ran and bought it right away !? But the fact is that I didn't
pay too much attention to the test. I was more into football-games where you see
the players from the side, not from the above. So I kept on playing other
games (not footie-games). Then came the brake-through :)
A friend of me told me Sensible Soccer was the best game he had played,
and told me you gotta play it !!!. So I loan it from him just to shut him up !
I put the disk in my Amiga 500 (great computer it was/is) and had a look.
Then I think I choosen to play Sweden vs Denmark and first of all
I got stunned by the fact that all names where correct spelled !
After I had played my first match I was totally sold on the game !
It was brilliant just like my friend had told me. He got his game back
and I bought my own game and played it like a maniac :)
One funny thing was that I didn't realesed that there where club-teams as well
so I played for about a half year only with the national-teams, my friend didn't
told me about the club-teams becouse he thought I al ready knew about them.
Then one day I was about to save my game, and saw "load club-teams",
I decided to load and see what it was, and there were a whole bunch of
club-teams, I was once again stunned ! I started to check out every team and my
favo-teams became two french teams Paris Saint-Germain (becouse they
had 3 star midfielders) and Saint-Etienne (this team is my third favo-team
in reality too ! The other two are IFK Norrköping & Aston Villa).
Then after a while came Sensible Soccer 1.1 and this was even better
than the first Sensible Soccer. Some small changes had been done and it felt
like they had removed many of the small mistakes in the first version.
I also bought the other versions that came to the Amiga and then after some time
of silence I saw an add about Sensible World Of Soccer and this time there was no time to hasitate so I ordered it right away (last game I bought to my Amiga)
I played this game for a rather long time, until I bought my PC and also
bought the latest version (lets hope not the last) of the game (96/97).
So at the moment I play Sensible World Of Soccer 96/97 with updated teams.

This is my SWOS-Story in short
Thanx for reading :-)
