The tournament was held in Backa Palanka (Yugoslavia) and there where 46 contender.
Almost everybody where from Yugoslavia but there where also players from Lebanon,
Poland, Bulgaria and Austria.
The playing system was 3 groups of 9 players and 3 groups of 8 players.
Group 1 (after "league-play")
In the first quater-final Djuki beat Marcin 13-12 after pen. (2-2).
In the second quater-final Dzunek beat Shlivke 2-0 (overtime).
Then in the semi-final (or group-final) Dzunek won 2-1 over Djuki
So from group 1, the finalist became Dzunek !
Group 2 (after "league-play")
In the first quater-final MCT beat Ivana (the only female contender) 1-0.
In the second quater-final Yossarian (called himself B-92) beat Gole 3-1.
In the semi-final (or group-final) MCT won a easy 3-0 victory over Yossarian (B-92).
So from group 2, the finalist became MCT !

The final was a thrilling game and MCT had more experience than Dzunek,
and this showed to an importen thing. So the winner of WST 2001 became M.C.T.

Sweswos congratulate M.C.T. to be "The best Swos-player vs 'player' in the world".
Well, of course this is "inofficel" becouse not every Swos-player world wide had
a change to join the WST, but of those who joined M.C.T. was the strongest !

Next year WST will probably be held in Beograd (Belgrade) Yugoslavia.
I had my hopes for Poland but it looks like Yugoslavia stay "Swos-country" nr 1 !
